Roofing & Siding

Roofing & Siding Contractor in Leominster & Central Mass

Your roof and siding are the shell that keeps everything else dry. In Central Massachusetts that shell has to survive heavy snow, ice dams along the eaves, wind-driven rain, and long stretches of freeze and thaw. When shingles curl or siding starts to crack and let water behind it, the damage you cannot see is usually worse than what you can.

How we approach it

Delane Construction handles roofing and siding as part of full exterior work. Because we are a general contractor, we can deal with what is under the surface too: rotted sheathing, soft fascia, failed flashing around chimneys and windows, or trim that needs to be rebuilt before new siding goes on. Our project photos include a colonial finished in gray and beige siding, a good example of how much new siding can change the look of a house.

We inspect first, explain what we see, and give you a clear proposal. During the job we protect your landscaping, keep the site clean, and keep you informed, then walk the finished exterior with you.

Roofing & Siding: common questions

Curling or missing shingles in one area, or a single flashing leak, can often be repaired. Widespread granule loss, multiple leaks, soft spots in the deck, or a roof that is near the end of its expected life usually point to replacement. We will look at it and give you an honest answer.
Ice dams form when heat escapes into the attic and melts snow that refreezes at the cold eaves. On a new roof, an ice and water barrier along the eaves helps protect against leaks. Improving attic ventilation and insulation addresses the cause. We look at both when we quote a roof in this climate.
Re-roofing and re-siding generally require a building permit from your local building department, and the contractor should be registered for home improvement work on existing homes. We file the permit for the work we do so it is on record.
It depends on size, pitch, layers to remove, and how much sheathing needs repair. As a broad market range, many asphalt roof replacements on typical single-family homes here fall somewhere in the low to mid five figures, roughly $12,000 to $30,000, with large or complex roofs going higher. We give you a clear number after the inspection.
