Windows & Doors

Window & Door Installation in Leominster & Central Mass

Old windows and doors are where a lot of Central Massachusetts homes lose heat in January and let water in during April. Single-pane sashes, rotted sills, and doors that will not seal against the weatherstrip all add up to drafts, higher heating bills, and trim that keeps rotting.

How we approach it

Delane Construction installs replacement windows, new construction windows, entry doors, patio doors, and storm doors. As a general contractor, we can also fix what is around the opening: rotted framing, damaged sills, or siding and trim that need to be patched once the old unit comes out. That is often where a quick install goes wrong.

We measure carefully, explain the difference between insert and full-frame replacement for your house, and give you a clear proposal. The install itself is about the details: flashing, insulation around the frame, and clean interior and exterior trim.

How it works

How a windows & doors project runs

01

What is not working

Drafts, condensation, stuck sashes, or a door that will not seal. We start with the problem.

02

Measure and inspect

We measure each opening and check the frames and sills for rot before recommending a method.

03

Proposal and order

Scope and price in writing, then we order the units and schedule install around lead times.

04

Install and trim

Remove, repair, set, flash, insulate, and trim, then a walkthrough to check every unit.

Windows & Doors: common questions

An insert window fits inside the existing frame, which is faster and less disruptive if the frame is sound. Full-frame replacement removes everything down to the rough opening, which lets us fix rot and air seal properly. In older homes with damaged sills, full-frame is often worth it. We will tell you which fits your house.
Manufacturer lead times are usually the longest part and can range from a few weeks to a couple of months depending on the product. Installation itself is often a day or a few days for a typical house. We give you the expected timeline when we order.
Yes. We work one opening at a time so each one is open only briefly, and we pick calmer days when possible. Many homeowners actually notice the comfort difference right away when the new units go in during cold weather.
Window and door replacement on an existing home generally requires a building permit from the local building department, and changing the size of an opening involves more review. We handle the permit for the work we do.
